Non-SelbySoft Equipment Policy

We have customers that inquire about purchasing equipment from sources other than SelbySoft.  

POS Printer Replacement:
Printers can be purchased online. Please be aware that you are responsible for making sure that the interface (Serial, Ethernet, USB or Wireless) is compatible with your equipment.  Additionally, there may be specific adapters needed in some of these configurations in order to make the printer work.  

You will be responsible for making sure the printer is connected and printing in Windows before SelbySoft can configure the POS software.  If you need assistance with installing the printer in Windows or with drivers, we do have a configuration fee that can be paid for that help.  

Configuration Fee:  $50 

POS Cash Drawer Replacement:
Cash drawers can be purchased through other sources. Cash drawers come in a few different configurations (USB, Parallel, Serial and via Printer Port).  If purchasing the cash drawer online, you will need to ensure that you purchase a compatible piece of equipment and that the configuration is correct. Please be aware that not every cash drawer is compatible. 

Once the monitor is physically plugged in and working in Windows through the driver supplied, SelbySoft will setup any other portion of the software configuration.  If you need help beyond that, SelbySoft has a configuration fee that can be paid for help. 

Configuration Fee: $50

POS Touch Screen Monitor Replacement: 
Touch Screens can be purchased through other sources. They typically come in a few different configurations (USB or Serial).  If purchasing a touch screen online, you will need to ensure that you purchase a compatible piece of equipment and that the configuration is correct. 

Once the cash drawer is physically plugged in and working in Windows through the driver supplied, SelbySoft will setup the software portion of the configuration.  If you need help beyond that, SelbySoft has a configuration fee that can be paid for help. 

Configuration Fee: $50

POS Computer / All in One Replacement:

If you are purchasing a computer or all in one as a POS station replacement, SelbySoft will require a configuration fee for setup.  Simply put, the only way to make sure the configuration will work properly with your SelbySoft point of sale software is to have it configured by one of our experts.  When you purchase a computer or POS station, you will be responsible for making sure it meets the following minimum requirements. 

Minimum Hardware Requirements:
  1. Windows 10 Professional.  We will not install or configure SelbySoft on "Home" versions of the Windows Operating System. 
  2. Intel Core i3 or AMD equivalent processor or better. 
  3. 4 GB RAM or better.
  4. 128 GB HDD or better.  Please allow enough space for your data, Windows, future Windows updates and any other software that might need to be installed. 
  5. Sufficient ports for printers, cash drawer, monitors, kitchen or barista display systems or any other peripheral equipment.  This is very important to verify as your other items may not work if you don't have the correct number or configuration of ports. 
Will SelbySoft support my equipment after the configuration? 
Please realize that SelbySoft cannot support equipment that has not been purchased through us.  If you purchase equipment outside of SelbySoft, you are responsible for any equipment setup or issues in the future.  Including but not limited to, troubleshooting and configuring equipment if necessary.  We highly recommend that you have a plan of action if there is a problem.  We suggest that you have an IT individual available in the event of a hardware or operating system issue.   If you are having issues with your POS system, SelbySoft may ask you to remove the non-SelbySoft equipment in order to fully troubleshoot.  We may also charge an additional configuration fee to handle these issues. 

Configuration Fee: $250 per terminal
